Department of Economic Security
Job Service, the State's public employment agency, provides assistance to job seekers
and employers at no cost. A wide variety of jobs are available, from entry-level
to salaried, professional positions, both local and nationwide. With the automated
job bank system, job seekers have the option of self-registration, allowing the
computer to match them to jobs for which they are qualified. Specialized services
such as workshops and career counseling, are available to help job seekers who are
experiencing difficulties in securing employment.
To be eligible for Job Service, an applicant needs only to be seeking employment,
be a citizen or legally qualified to work in the United States.
Job Service also provides the following employer services:
- Match job applicants to meet employer requirements
- Schedule interviews and refer applicants
- Provide interview space for conducting individual and group interviews
Provide occupational and labor market information, and conduct special recruitments
when large numbers of workers are needed.
